How do I assign users as Course Assigners?

You can search for specific users using the search function and assign a Course Assigner role that enables them to assign courses to students/researchers and track their progress.


There are 2 ways of achieving this: 


The first way should be used when a faculty member hasn’t been registered on the platform: 


  1. Navigate to “My profile” 
  2. Select “Manage institution” 
  3. Click “Invite new user” 
  4. Key in their name, surname, and email address 
  5. Select “Course Assigner” role 
  6. Click “Invite user” 


Once you’ve done the last step the faculty member will be sent an email with an invitation link. It’s worth noting that this email may end up in their spam folder and they may not see it.   



The second way should be used when a faculty member has already been registered on the platform: 


  1. Navigate to “My profile” 
  2. Select “Manage institution” 
  3. In the table find the faculty member you want to assign the course assigner role to (if there are a lot of rows in the table you can use the search function to find a particular person)  
  4. Click "Edit"
  5. Select “Course Assigner” 
  6. Click “Update user” 


When this user signs in next time, they’ll sign in with the Course Assigner role.


Users can also request to become a Course Assigner and this will trigger an email notification to all Institutional Administrators to approve/decline the request. Institutional Administrators can also view these requests by selecting "My Profile" then navigating to the "List of requests to become a CA" tab:
